Christes Maesse

Tt’s presentation of “Medieval Christmas” for Homeschool Club’s “Christmas Around the World” day.
I find it so much easier to video tape his practice round at home, where Boo isn’t tugging at my arms and other kids aren’t talking.

.

Ok. This book actually is very good. The decorations I really like.
I never knew that the Romans had Christmas. I wonder if the Greeks had Christmas too…
I also never knew they did plays without any words (Mumming) - sorta sounds like “humming”.
My favorite part of a Medieval Christmas would have been the decorations. In particularily, the orange one (pomanders) - I call them Charmanders. (way to incorporate Pokemon into Medieval times, Tt…)

Please watch my video. It will be going on TV (Apple TV, that is!).

The Zoo

Tt is slooooowly learning piano – not that he is slow, we just never EVER practice. Ever.

But he loves going to his lesson, and loves his teacher who is great, so on he goes until we can find it in our schedule to actually do some practicing.

This week his teacher recorded him doing a super funky rendition of “The Zoo” – no wonder he loves going to see her!
(Photos added b/c I don’t know how to use iVideo…)

Ahhh, the study of English with boys… How wonderful to learn so many of our subjects through our bodily functions.

Charlemagne, such as it is…

One of the things I like about homeschooling – sometimes the dog does eat your homework, and your teacher completely understands.

Try, try, try as we might, today’s Biography Fair just wasn’t meant to happen. Nor, so it seems, was it meant to be recorded for posterity other than this one photograph.

So, here we have it. Tayler’s Biography project on Charles Magnus, a.k.a. Charlemagne.

New Family Tradition

Tayler helped us to come up with a new family tradition that I’m sure we’ll carry forward for many, many years to come :

Post-Halloween-2cups-of-trick-or-treating-chocolate-chipped cookies !!
THEY ARE YUM.

We chopped up 2 cups of our halloween chocolates and smarties and reese pieces and Tayler and his sister made the batter and — voila! Amazing cookies.

Math Worksheet

We’re starting our multiplication tables, so I made this quick table. It can be used for adding, and with a diagonal line to “cross out” negative numbers (for now), also subtraction.
Hopefully a right-click save-as works!
Enjoy!

Sam :)

This is the horse Sam.

It was so fun. Horses poop a lot.
I like this horse because he is very nice.

He has a star (on his head). It doesn’t look like one, well, that’s what they call it.

I learned that horses need lots of fat. Number two, they have marks on their forehead (some). And for the final thing is they need different types of brushes to brush different types of places.

HALLOWEEN!!

This is me at Halloween.

The black knight is my brother.
You’re probably wondering why I have silly glasses and apple juice!

.
You can see one difference – the helmet. I couldn’t find it at first because it was in the back of our car, but then I found it.

I had the helmet in the second picture with my brother. He is the one with the axe.
You can also see that I’m wearing armour. My armour was made half of my dad’s hockey pads and the other half was part of my costume.

Merlin and the Making of a King

Tt’s book report presentation for “Merlin and the Making of a King” book.

Unfortunately I had a wiggly 4-yr old on my lap, and the sound is terrible, but still worth an upload for his teacher to see :)

Double Dudenshmirtz

Whew!

Back into a new school year, and to kick it off the boys have been practicing (REPEATEDLY) this song so much I thought we’d add costumes – and follow it up with the “real thing” :)

Good job, boys!
