Unfortunately I had a wiggly 4-yr old on my lap, and the sound is terrible, but still worth an upload for his teacher to see

How to Be a Pirate by Cressida Cowell
This is the first book after “How to Train Your Dragon”.
Hiccup had to find a treasure. At the end, this monster had a huge mouth and Hiccup was so tiny. It also had this shocking tail. The monster was going to poison Hiccup. The monster was trying to protect the treasure of Grimbeard the Ghastly, a famous pirate. Alvin the Treacherous was one of the most evil pirates. He wasn’t a Viking, he was an Outcast. He tried to take the treasure and kill Hiccup.
It was a bad book for children because it has too much violence (yeah, right – he’s laughing as he says this…).
There were really funny parts with throw ups, poo and barking Outcasts.
I am getting ready for Book Three!
(There are 8 books – so far – in the “How to Train Your Dragon” series. We found about half of them at Costco for about $7. They’re also sold in bookstores ranging from $11 – $16 each.)
The website is HERE – it has games and downloads etc.
You should read this book.
And do slug races every Monday.
Get a dead slug and two alive ones. Or just get three plain slugs. And count to three.
This book is about puddle goblins. Puddle goblins could roll up puddles and put them in their pants. Water goblins are after the puddle goblins.
Oh, by the way, look at the end of the book for a funny part.

Keep a eye out for the movie sort of cartoon. I have the chapter book.
It’s about training a dragon instead of a horse. The time was set in the Vikings. The Vikings are hunting the dragons. Hiccup is learning how to train the Night Fury (dragon). He didn’t want to kill a dragon.

You can find games (and coloring and dot-to-dots).
Kevin Bolger wrote Sir Farsalot, which is totally farty.
In this story, Sir Fartsalot tries to hunt the booger and the Foul West Wind, but the foul West Wind is actually his fart smell. He farts too much because he eats too many raw turnips. Sir Cedric, which is a scaredy cat, and Prince Harry of Armpit ride with him. Harry is riding just to learn to be a knight. Sir Cedric is riding to learn how not to be a scaredy cat.
I like it because it is incredible farty. It was funny.
Watch this You Tube please – it is available.
(the official website has a link to a You Tube video. humor only a 6-yr old boy could love…)
Kazu Kibuishi wrote the Amulets.
It’s about an amulet and the amulet tries to take over their person. And if you lose control of the amulet you will no longer be a human. You turn into an elf.
Emily is trying to save everyone from the bad elves.
I most like that they are graphic novels because I love pictures.
You can watch them on my website with this You Tube link: (spoiler alert… don’t watch too much of it if you’re going to buy the books! Avail at Costco for $7.99, Chapters for $13.99)
