The Zoo

Tt is slooooowly learning piano – not that he is slow, we just never EVER practice. Ever.

But he loves going to his lesson, and loves his teacher who is great, so on he goes until we can find it in our schedule to actually do some practicing.

This week his teacher recorded him doing a super funky rendition of “The Zoo” – no wonder he loves going to see her!

New Family Tradition

Tayler helped us to come up with a new family tradition that I’m sure we’ll carry forward for many, many years to come :

Post-Halloween-2cups-of-trick-or-treating-chocolate-chipped cookies !!
THEY ARE YUM.

We chopped up 2 cups of our halloween chocolates and smarties and reese pieces and Tayler and his sister made the batter and — voila! Amazing cookies.

HALLOWEEN!!

This is me at Halloween.

The black knight is my brother.
You’re probably wondering why I have silly glasses and apple juice!

.
You can see one difference – the helmet. I couldn’t find it at first because it was in the back of our car, but then I found it.

I had the helmet in the second picture with my brother. He is the one with the axe.
You can also see that I’m wearing armour. My armour was made half of my dad’s hockey pads and the other half was part of my costume.

PE time – Tobogganing :)

Anything counts as PE time here :)
We were lucky to have a warm, sunny day in the snow – gotta love Vancouver.

Tobogganing was very fun.
My back got frozen as solid as an iceberg. Snow went all the way up my spine!

The last one was pretty good – I almost went way up the hill. I kept saying “I’m gonna die!”, but actually it turned out pretty good.

Not-Home-School

It’s been such a gorgeous end of Sept / early Oct that most of our days are being spent out side, schooling, unschooling, playing, walking, picnicing… We’re saving most of the “books” for rainy days – and we know there’ll be enough of those coming to let us catch up!

Tt as Robin Hood

We’ve been going through a reading comprehension book on Robin Hood – this is Tt’s latest costume :)
Although I’d made the green outfit to be a big, bulky, hairy goblin in honor of his Drama Presentation, it works here too.
